Alkali-Silica-Reaction (ASR) of concrete pavements on roads, bus traffic areas and par- king spaces in the municipal sector

This research project in the field of municipal traffic areas was aimed at basic findings for a practice-oriented classification of the moisture class and the respective assessment of concrete by means of a performance-test. For this purpose concrete pavements without showing signs of a damaging ASR after approx. 10 years of use were tested. From this pavements drill cores were taken and assessed with a procedure especially developed for the moisture classes WA.

Influence of concrete technology parameters on the moisture storage and moisture transfer in concretes and cement screeds and on the resulting moisture content under different ambient conditions

The present research project intended to systematically examine the effects of the cement type on the drying behaviour of cement-bound screeds. The particular aim was to establish whether the use of CEM II and CEM III cements really affects the drying behaviour of cement screeds.
