CSC – Concrete Sustainability Council

CSC – Concrete Sustainability Council

The Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) has introduced a global certification system which is designed to provide companies in the fields of concrete, cement and aggregates with information about the extent to which they can operate in an environmentally, socially and economically responsible way. The CSC certification covers raw materials, their source or origin, the manufacturing process and a range of economic, social and environmental impacts.

The objectives of the CSC certification are:

  • To improve the sustainable performance of concrete
  • To improve transparency in the field of concrete
  • Recognition in the context of sustainability efforts in certification systems
  • Recognition within the framework of government policy for "green" procurement
  • To demonstrate continuous improvement to the public
  • To improve the business scenario for sustainably produced concrete
