VDZ carries out comprehensive research projects at its research institute in Düsseldorf involving cement production, cement manufacture, cement chemistry and concrete technology, issues technical reports and promotes training programmes. The employees at the independent testing, monitoring, certification and environmental stations gather and analyse samples from cement works and plants across Europe, carry out comprehensive environmental and ambient pollution measurements, as well as certify building products and management systems.
Here, VDZ has an international team of experts, representing a whole host of disciplines, to fall back on. In addition to engineers, natural and material scientists, VDZ also employs laboratory technicians, economists and architects. A good mix of young employees and industry experts, who are supported by years of experience in the cement industry, has contributed to a unique concentration of expertise and innovation at its research institute, as well as the high quality of our services.
As the world's leading research institute and service provider in the area of cement and concrete, VDZ is dependent on its highly qualified and motivated workforce. A competitive salary, flat hierarchies with a high level of personal responsibility, a good working climate and development programmes are the foundation for performance-driven VDZ employees who can rely on their employer. For more than 140 years, VDZ has been a constant figure on the German cement industry scene and many an employee can also boast long-term service with the company.
The opportunities afforded to employees for combining family and career have been particularly valuable throughout the years. Offering flexible and part-time programmes, VDZ employees enjoy a special flexibility when it comes to successfully merging personal and professional life. There are a number of childcare places available for VDZ employees in a nearby daycare centre, enabling young parents to quickly return to the working world.
