VDZ extends its international ASR expertise

VDZ is one of eight international partners of the “LNEC cube study” to establish a link between outdoor exposure sites dedicated to alkali-silica reaction (ASR) investigations. The transnational comparison is used to investigate the impact of environmental conditions on the kinetics of ASR, the effectiveness of preventive measures and the reliability of laboratory tests. The results will allow establishing new specifications for reducing the risk that deleterious expansion and cracking develop in concrete infrastructures due to ASR in different environments. VDZ is therefore part of a unique network and has expertise that can be utilized in international projects. continue
