Prognoses of emissions and environmental impacts

The activities the Institute pursues in the field covering prognoses of emissions and environmental impacts are essentially determined by the following demands: checking of emission limits imposed by authorities, initiation of permit granting procedures according to the Federal Ambient Pollution Protection Law (BImSchG), verification of guaranteed emission values in newly installed plants, and prognoses of the emission and ambient pollution behaviour of plants in case of certain process variations. A further requirement to be met is the wish of factory auto-control to gain comprehensive knowledge of the actual emissions from operational plants.

We further measure the emissions and environmental impacts (acoustic noise, odours, polluting gases, dusts) of commercial, industrial and municipal plants under the terms of permit granting procedures, monitoring and general development plans.

  - by model calculations which take into account the topography, the structure of the building and the meteorological evaluation of environmental impacts that is representative of the site
• Recommendation of measures for improving the emission and ambient pollution situation
• Summarising of the results in an expertise or final report
